The scalp massage is one of the most enjoyable parts of an oil routine. Done gently, it can be a calm ritual at the end of a busy day.
How to massage
1. Use the pads of your fingers, not your nails. 2. Press and move the skin in small circles, from the front of the head to the back. 3. Spend more time on the temples and the back of the neck. 4. Keep the pressure gentle. Scalp skin can be sensitive.
How long
Five to ten minutes is enough for most people. Longer sessions are fine when you have time, but they are not required.
Washing out the oil
Use warm water and a mild shampoo. Wash twice if your hair feels coated. A gentle, lukewarm rinse helps the scalp stay comfortable.
Make it a habit
Choose a time that suits you, such as the evening before a wash day. Pair it with a favourite playlist or a quiet cup of tea.
