Chia seeds are small, mild in taste and easy to add to food. The Imported Chia Seeds come in a 250 g pack, enough to try many recipes.

Simple ideas

  • Chia pudding: mix two tablespoons of seeds with a cup of milk or yogurt. Stir, rest for 20 minutes, then stir again.
  • Fruit bowl: sprinkle a teaspoon over fresh fruit or yogurt.
  • Drinks: stir a spoon into lemon water or a smoothie. Let it sit for a few minutes so it swells.
  • Salads: add a little on top for crunch.

Soaking tips

Chia seeds swell when they absorb liquid. Soak them for at least 15 to 20 minutes before eating, so they are soft and easy to digest. Drink plenty of water with them.

Portion and balance

A small spoonful a day is a common way to start. Chia seeds are high in fibre, so increase slowly if you are not used to them.

Store them well

Keep the packet sealed in a cool, dry place. Once opened, close it tightly.
