Herbal teas are made from flowers, leaves, roots or fruit. Many people enjoy them as a calm, caffeine-free drink.

Start simple

Try one tea at a time, so you learn how it tastes. A good first choice is Blue Tea, which has a gentle taste and a striking colour.

Brewing basics

  • Use fresh, clean water.
  • Do not over-steep. Five to seven minutes is enough for most flowers.
  • Strain before serving.

Storage

Keep dried herbs in airtight jars, away from heat, light and moisture.

Note

Herbal tea is a pleasant drink, but it is not a substitute for medical care. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or take medicines, check with a doctor first.
